I Heart Summer Tag..

1. Favourite bronzer for summer?
Elizabeth Arden - Pure finish bronze powder in warm radiance.

2. Your relaxing on a hammock, on a tropical island, what are you sipping on?
Most likely something fruity and alcohol free as i don't drink, something like a strawberry slush :)

3. Favorite summer lip product?
I always like to wear bright lipstick, Morange by Mac is a beautiful summer orangey red, or Candy Yum Yum by Mac also.

4. Pool or Beach?
Definitely the pool, i hate getting covered in sand when it sticks to your suncream and the texture of your skin once you been in the sea is horrible, i prefer to know im safe in the pool away from what could be in the ocean!

5. Summer = crazy hair! What's your must-have styling product?
I really like Lee Stafford - My Big Fat Texturising Hair Super Spray, its a mixture between a salt spray and a volumising spray, it gives a lovely messy beachy look without making it look too stiff!

6. Sun bathing or fake tan?
Although i really hate fake tanning i would always opt for this as sunbathing damages your skin so much, i also had a complete nightmare whilst on holiday in Cuba last year in which i sunbathed and burnt my skin so much it actually bubbled all over my chest (the most painful thing ever) so i will always be wary of sunbathing now, so definitely fake it!

7. Favorite summer nail polish?
I dont really tend to wear nail varnish as i have Shellac so its always gels for me, my favourite at the moment is Shellac's - Hot Pop Pink, a bright almost neon pink which looks lovely in the summer sun.

8. Any summer traditions?
To aim to get a tan but it never happens haha! (im very pale)

9. Favorite summer scent?
Clarins - Eau De Jardins perfume, its my favourite summer scent, its so light and fruity but has such staying power, it reminds me of holidays instantly.

10. Favorite BBQ food?
Has to be a good old cheese burger, if not i really love fish on the BBQ, those huge prawns you can get, oh my god there good BBQ'd!

11. What's your favorite summer-proof product?
Face powder for making you less shiny than you already are, and Mac Fix+ so set your makeup so its not going anywhere throughout the heat during the day.

12. Any summer vacation plans this year? No plans? Tell us about your dream summer trip!
Sadly i dont have any plans for this year as of yet, my dream summer trip would be to somewhere like Bora Bora in the huts that the Kardashians stayed in on there annual summer holiday, it literally looks like pure bliss, if not i would love to go back to Cuba as it was the best place ive ever visited, and my most favourite holiday ever!

The Skincare Tag..

So browsing through Blogger on my Sunday at work i came across this post from the Savvy Sunday blog post from Makeup Savvy, i loved her answers and thought as it fits so well in my skincare diaries theme i shall do the tag too :)

Heres my answers, Hope you enjoy it..

Describe your skincare routine in 5 words
Cleanse, tone, spritz, serum, moisturize :)

What's your skin type?
Acne prone, fair and combination.

What's your favourite skincare product?
Kate Somervilles cleanser for acne prone skin, it literally is the only product Ive known to completely clear my skin.
Space NK used to stock it but now I cannot find it in this country to save my life :( come back pleaseeeeee!

Top blemish zapper
Sudocrem. I swear its the cheapest product known to man to completely heal spots, Otherwise Dr Nick Lowe Spot gel is a good one to help banish the nasties!
The gel really does reduce spots over night and will actually remove them within 2-3 days.

Face wipes yay or nay?
Ocassionally i run to these, if i know im going to be away for a night and wont handle the chore of lugging around a bazillion different skincare items than yes these are a go to for me, but for everyday use then no i would always stick to my hefty bottles of miracle potions to keep my skin clean!

Toner yay or nay?
YES, i believe toner realllyyy works on cleaning your skin thoroughly, aslong as you opt for one without alcohol then your fine, alot of people think they strip the skin which is why you should always choose carefully according to your skin type with toner.
Without a doubt, every time i toner my skin after cleansing, there is always, no matter what traces of makeup left on the cotton pad, so it just goes to show that you might think youve removed your makeup but theres always some pitched up on your face ready for an overnight stay at camp PORE.

What's the most unusual skincare product you've tried?
I cant say ive honestly tried anything really unusual, ive tried alot but there isnt anything that screams to mind on this one, pretty boring i know!
According to Makeup Savvy she has used snail cream on her face, i cant say im as adventurous as that im afraid!

You're in a French pharmacy and can only pick one item - what is it?
Most likely BioDerma, yes i know every blogger and there dog has this product but im sadly one of the few that hasnt ever actually tried it, i have the dupey version the Loreal - Micellar Solution which is AMAZING at removing your makeup so if its dupe worthy of the BioDerma than im sure BioDerma is going to be even better, so that would be my choice :)

Tell us your top skincare tip
Muslin clothes, facial brushes, flannels etc, in the bath/shower USE THEM.
They do such an excellent job at really cleaning your skin, make sure your not to rough or use a product thats to abarasive for your skin, i.e cleansing milks with these are fantastic as the tool is doing most the work rather than the product stripping your skin of all its loveliness!

Well thankyou guys for reading this post, please share with me any of your top tips related to these questions, or anything skincare related in general in the comments bar below :)

Mini Haul - Beauty Products From July

A mini haul of beauty bits i have brought in the month of July :) Soap and Glory - You Wont Believe Your Eyes, a gorgeous eye serum/cream which you roller onto under and around the eye area, its cooling, soothing and brightens under eye circles, what more could you ask for, ive noticed it also really sets my eye makeup and i get less creasing from concealer which is an added bonus!
Nars - Laguna Bronzer, i had been lusting after a bronzer for agesss but because im so fair i naturally dont suit anything bronze/deep toned, i'd heard alot of good things about this cult product through YouTube and other beauty blogs that i thought i would go to my local Space NK and see what all the fuss was about, well as soon as i swatched it i knew it was going to suit me as it really isnt dark atall, its such a light bronze that it just gives such a lovely warm glow to my face without making me look orange or that i have put too much colour on my face, as you can see from the picture below it has a matte finish with only the subtlest of shimmer which makes this product perfect for contouring too :)
Clinique - Bottom Lash Mascara, another product i had been wanting for such a long time, my main reason for this is because no matter what mascara i use i always get fall out underneath my eye area, so frustrating as i never have alot of time during the day for touch-ups so i would end up walking round for hours looking like a panda without noticing, well this mascara is just perfect for that reason as since i have been using it for the past 3 weeks i have literally had no fall out whatsoever and the formula of this mascara is just beautiful, it separates every single lash and makes them look so long and lovely, this is a definite for anyone looking for the perfect solution to bottom lash mascara!
Caudalie - Tient Divine Gradual Self Tanning Cream, i am yet to try this yet as i only purchased this yesterday but i will let you know how i get on :)
Clinique - Chubby Stick Intense - Might Mimosa, I had seen Tanya Burr use this in so many tutorials i knew it was something i was going to have to try out, i love orange lip colours and this has a slightly reddy/orangey tone to it which is gorgeous with this amazing summer weather weve been having lately, it also makes your teeth look super white from the undertones in it, lipstick and teeth whitener in one go, what more could you ask for?
Essie - Tarte Deco, a lovely coral colour perfect for summer, you only need one coat of this, i think Essie definitely have the best nail products around, the formulas of them are so long wearing and you rarely even need a top coat with them.
Nars - Sheer Glow, this was a purchase i got when i brought my Nars Laguna Bronzer, i needed a new foundation and thought that this wasn't going to work for me because of the 'sheer' in the title, and from reading my previous post you will understand why the idea of a sheer foundation wouldnt work for me, but OH MY GOD, its A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, it has the most amazing coverage without looking cakey on the skin, you can buff this in so well and it still covers every last flaw, it is slightly matte with a hint of dewiness which also shows through towards the end of the day, but rather than wearing off in patches it 'sheers' out into a dewy finish with the coverage from when you first applied it, i believe this could be my new holy grail foundation, even rivalling my Mac - Studio Sculpt!
Clinique - Anti Blemish Solutions Spot Gel, a fairly standard spot gel, you cant really it on my hand as its very clear and light, its working so far but i will most likely have to update you on this as i dont think ive been using it long enough to give a fair review :)
Christian Dior - Cream Blush in Panama, Beautiful orange/coral blush, id really been looking for an orange/peach blush and couldnt really seem to find one anywhere until i stumbled across this a few days ago, it looks like its going to be really harsh on your skin but the swatch on my hand is actually built up by 3 layers of product, so the formula is actually really natural on the face making it so perfect for everyday use, but you can build the product up for nights out etc so all in all and really good product for keeping with you at all times.
Ren - Hydra Calm Youth Defence Serum (I apologise i had actually missed this out in the beginning photo) I have been using this for the past few nights underneath my moisturiser after i have cleansed and toned my skin, it works well on mattifying the face and makes my makeup adhere to my skin alot better than without it, again i dont think ive used this long enough to make a judgement on it :)
Caudalie - Beauty Elexir, a calming, cooling, refresing facial spray which has skincare benefits in it, it is a toner and makeup setter along with many other wonderful benefits to it, i really love the smell of this product, i have read that alot of people dont like the smell, and also seen many mixed reviews on this product, i like it so far, whether or not i see any long term benefits from using, im yet to tell, but im enjoying it at the moment and hope i continue to do so :)
So thats it for the beauty products i have purchased this month, i have brought a few bits in the summer sales, clothes, etc so if you would like me to do a haul of those bits let me know in the comments below and i can always do that for you! Hope you all enjoy your Sunday, i will be working but atleast i can sit and blog for the day whilst im there as im sure i will be fairly quiet tommorow :) See you soon, Frankie xxx
