Aveda - Damage Remedy - Daily Hair Repair

Ever damaged your hair so badly you believe it's beyond repair? *raises hand* yea that's me!

After spending the majority of my late teens over dying, straightening, curling and excessive blow-drying I had well and truly ruined my lovely long hair!
Cutting it all off was just the first step and I literally couldn't believe I had super short hair after years of growing it, but the damage was still quite apparent through my hair as I had applied chemicals to it for so long i knew it needed some extra treatment, so off I went to my local department store to seek out the miracle product to get my hair back to feeling new and nourished.

Having a little wander around the beauty department the Aveda stand caught my eye, with those super large bottles of shampoo and conditioner, how could it not?
I knew the brand must be great as the demand must be high for their products to carry bottles that large!

Explaining my hair woes to the sales assistant she recommended to me the Daily Hair Repair from the Damage Remedy range, a product she uses herself due to her own over-dyed platinum blonde locks, she told me this literally saved her hair from falling out, I instantly snapped it up and couldn't wait to head home to try it out!

I was quite sceptical at first as the product itself is a rather strange consistency, it's almost like a serum/gel that you apply to wet hair and leave in, it seems almost like your applying conditioner to your hair, but after drying (no heat protectant used as it already has this in the product, perfect for lazy girls like me) my hair felt nourished, soft and supple with the hair repair literally undetectable!

  • Certified organically-derived quinoa protein penetrates hair to instantly repair damage and strengthen from the inside out.
  • Wheat protein helps protect from heat stylingâsuch as blow-drying and ironing.
  • Soy-derived oil detangles to help prevent further damage and breakage.
  • Certified organic essential oils including bergamot, mandarin and ylang ylang provide an uplifting aroma.
I've been so impressed with this product, that along with my holy grail; Moroccan oil, I've added this to my hair routine consistently for months, I'm down to the very last drops of this and it's lasted for well over 9 months as you only need a 10p piece size amount for even long hair like I have and ill definitely be re-purchasing come payday!

Have any of you tried this or another product by Aveda as I'm super keen to try some of their other products too, let me know :)

Hope your all having a wonderful week so far? Lots of love Frankie x

HD Brows - Pro Eyebrow Palette

Evening my lovelies, so today im coming to you with a product which is new to me and that is the HD Brows - Pro Eyebrow Palette!

I picked this up after seeing a fellow blogger had written about it being a really good price on Ebay at the moment, the reason for this being that HD Brows have rebranded and redesigned all there packaging so the older packaged bits were being sold off via online stores so I instantly knew I had to buy this, and after just having come back from a Wedding I had done I realised quite how many different brow shades there really are and I wasn't quite catering to everyone's needs I had to make up!

I really like the older style packaging to be quite honest, its very sleek and shiny with the HDB logo on the front of the palette and comes with a HUGE mirror inside, I don't think I've ever seen a palette with such a big mirror inside, I find this super handy as you can see everything your doing and wont need to carry an extra one around with you!

The shades inside the palette are super versatile, you can cater pretty much any brow shade with these six shades, even though im mainly a mixture between the first and second shades I can see I will get a lot of use out of this as I mentioned before I will use it on my clients who majority of people I have come across have significantly darker brows than myself!

Another great use for this kit is that you could double up the use of the product and use them for matte shadows, all over the lids or for defining in the crease.

The pigmentation of the shadows are amazing, I was quite sceptical of the fact that I had purchased this from an Ebay store that it wouldn't be a genuine product and the quality would be rubbish but I for one definitely believe this to be a genuine HDB product as comparing it to other peoples palettes it is identical and the quality of the shadows is outstanding!

The shades in the palette are as below, you get some really great shades and they blend into the brows seamlessly, you cant see the visible lines like a pencil would give you and personally im a huge lover of shadow for the brows over any other product as it gives the most natural and flawless finish.

Overall im very happy I purchased this product and will definitely have to invest in some more HBD as the quality is seriously amazing, you can purchase the palette from the Ebay store here:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-BROWS-Professional-Eye-Brow-Palette-6-Colour-Pro-High-Definition-Eyebrows-/390774113257?pt=UK_Health_Beauty_Make_Up_Cosmetics_Eyeliner_PP&hash=item5afbf3c3e9
and it is priced at £13 with free delivery which is such a good deal!

Let me know if any of you purchase this and if you have any other HBD products you recommend?

Lots of love, Frankie x

Avene - Eau Thermale Spring Water

So in the few years I have been blogging, I never thought I would writing posts about 'water' but I am, strangely I have developed a little obsessing with the Avene - Eau Thermale Spring Water!

This product had been collecting dust on the top of my makeup stash for ages when I decided to chuck it in my handbag so that I actually got some use out of it, and considering the only reason I purchased it was because id seen a few bloggers with it in there bags also I thought there must be a reason for it.
I had been using this product as a makeup setting spray, which personally I don't think it does much for your face other than make powders look less cakey and considering I don't wear powder it pretty much was a dud for me, until the ever careful Samuel came back home with delightful sunburn all over his face back and shoulders that I whipped it out of the handbag and sprayed it all over him before bed, I have no idea what possessed me to think this would work, I just assumed it would cool him down but no, he awoke the next morning near enough pain free and a whole lot less sunburnt, couldn't be down to the Avene could it?
Well yes it indeed was as he continued to use it over the next day or so and it literally transformed his sunburn into a lovely golden tan, no peeling in sight!

I hadn't ever read the back of the bottle before but on doing so I was surprised to see what exactly the product is aimed at, as you can see from the photo below it has a whole host of things it works on and I couldn't believe a 'water' product could work wonders on everything from nappy rash to facial redness, luckily I do not suffer from nappy rash but facial redness I do and have used on makeup free days to calm down the clown cheeks just a tad!

Another little thing I have used this for is a little TMI but im afraid there's no boundaries where im concerned on this blog, I actually sprayed it 'down there' yes you can guess where I mean, I had a little sore shaving rash and it was seriously irritating me and I was finding it rather uncomfortable to wear underwear so I pulled out the trusty little can and sprayed away, left it overnight and woke to feeling literally no pain whatsoever, I know for many of us out there the bikini line pain can be abit of a problem and nothing has ever solved the problem like this before!

Im so impressed by this wonder water in a can that im 100% heading straight out the door to buy the larger bottle (or 2) if theres one product you invest your money into this year this must be one of them, I cant stress enough how much this has saved my life for some of those really inconvenient problems we all suffer from time to time!

Have any of you tried this and if you have let me know your thoughts!

Phillip Kingsley - Elasticizer 40th Anniversary Edition

So im pretty sure most of you have heard of the Elasticizer - cult hair mask with a huge celebrity following, oh and created for the pretty amazing Audrey Hepburn?

Phillip Kingsley has brought out a 40th anniversary limited edition set which includes a beautiful pearlized bottle with a hair wrap to keep the heat in your hair which makes the mask penetrate the hair further and this means I can wear it overnight without any mess ending up on my pillow :)

I have the original mask in the usual tub which I actually have in the Extreme Elasticizer for extremely dry hair which is amazing but only needs to be used once a month on my hair, the downside to the tub version means you have to dig the product out, which I don't mind at all but I know that some people really don't like the idea of this, well with the anniversary edition it comes in a squeezy tube meaning you wont waste any product or get water inside the bottle from digging around for the product!

I use around two 50p pieces as my hair is rather long now and this covers it just nicely, I don't apply this to the root though as it can make my hair greasy quickly when I do, I apply this from around 3/4 of the way up my hair right down to the tips where I am the driest and leave it for around 15-20 minutes whilst I bath, I use a cap from my original tub to make sure no water washes any of it off and keeps the hair warm as I explained earlier to allow it to penetrate the hair shaft deeper for maximum use of the mask..

One ive washed this out of my hair I follow with my regular shampoo and conditioner as normal, upon drying my hair I can instantly tell the difference in the feel of my hair, it brushes through so much easier, there are virtually no tangles, no dryness it literally feels as if I have had my hair freshly cut!

I love this product as it really does the job in transforming my dry hair in between cuts, I highly recommend purchasing Elasticizer, the anniversary box is slightly more expensive than the regular tub version but you do get more for your money with this set, if you fancy just testing it out then you can purchase a mini version too :)

Hope you enjoyed reading this post, have any of you tried the Elasticizer before?

Dior - Fluid Stick - Kiss Me

Afternoon my lovelies, today im going to ramble on about another lip product ive added to my already big enough stash, and that comes from one of my favourite brands the wonderful Dior.

Dior Makeup have brought out a new release of these lipstick/lipgloss hybrids that every brand seems to be releasing a version of recently, they are a gorgeous formula, very pigmented whilst nourishing on the lips, there is also 16 colours in the collection, so something to suit everyone!

I chose the colour Kiss Me, aside from the cute name i loved the shade, i seem to have been on a mission this month so find the 'perfect pink' for me, as much as im loving my Hourglass Origami (post below) ive been using this for when i want a heavier pigmented pink on the lips rather than a flush of colour, and this does that perfectly in one sweep.

The fluid sticks contain water for maximum lightness on the lips, they literally feel asif you have applied a lip balm but provide intense colour at the same time, perfect for days when you have no time for touch ups as they create a stain underneath the gloss, so when it wears off you still have pretty lips :)

Ecxuse the pale awkward face, wearing Kiss Me (freshly applied)

I also adore the packaging, housed in the typical Dior lipstick style, it looks like a lipstick from the outside but when you twist the lid it reveals the doe foot applicator keeping the lipstick shape intact!

They also have a really lovely scent about them, which i love!

Have any of you picked up one of these yet? If so what colours did you go for, id love to try some more, what are you reccomendations?

See you soon, Frankie x

Hourglass - Extreme Sheen Lipgloss - Origami

Yep its that's little pink beauty above, the Hourglass Extreme Sheen Lipgloss, a very luxurious little present to myself.

Origami has to be the prettiest spring pink you could pick, one swoop of this loveliness on your lips and your set for a picnic in the park, the formula is just as beautiful too, think pigmented but not sticky, nourishing but not wet, it has the perfect consistency for transitioning from day to night-time, just add a second layer and your good to go for that perfect pink lip along with a gorgeous tan and little dress.

I adore these doe-foot style applicators, this has a large one but is completely fool-proof to apply, I love the way I can literally pop this on the go without a mirror at hand and know that it will look perfected, products like this are a must in my life as im always busy and like to be an 'train journey makeup on the goer'

I also have a personal little place for this lipgloss is my heart as it literally smells to me like my holiday to Cuba with Sam, the scent of it reminds me of suncream i wore whilst there and it literally makes me feel warm inside when i apply it as it just takes me back to my favourite place with my favourite person <3

The lovely sales assistant in Space NK was wearing another of the hourglass shades in Nectar which is the next one on my list to pick up, but I instantly knew Origami was the first shade I should pick up as it just suited my needs for the perfect pink daytime gloss, I definitely think after trying the Tanya Burr range im now a fond lover of gloss again, which needless to say my lips are loving all this hydration after years of matte mac lippies :)

Have any of you tried anything from Hourglass and have any reccomendations for me, let me know lovelies!

Bumble and Bumble - Secret Hairdressers Invisible Oil

Hey my lovelies, im welcoming myself back to the wonderful world of blogging, seeing as i have been MIA for a while now :( i have seriously missed blogging so much, if you guys read my last post you will have seen a little bit of what i have been upto recently, but to cut a long story short i have had a very hectic few months, i have finally moved house and nearly all settled into it, but thats all for another post coming soon (hint hint house tour)

I just wanted to write a short post about this beauty, i have had this for agessss and recently decided to start using again as i was a little bored of Moroccan Oil and wanted something to bring my dry winter hair back to life!

The Secret hairdressers invisible oil is actually so lovely, its very lightweight - aslong as you use it sparingly, if you apply to much to your hair it can make your hair look very greasy and it doesnt come out until you next wash it so bear that in mind!

If you apply a small 10p piece to your hand and smooth into wet/damp hair you will seriously have no fly aways or frizziness once your hair has dried!

I just recently had my hair trimmed as even though i am growing it long it had become unmanagable and very dry due to the weather in England being very cold and humid, this has brought my hair back to life, and adding the oil into my haircare routine has definitely improved the condition of it even more, im loving this little bottle of orange goodness right now and think i will be using it for a while atleast :)

Have any of you used this oil or have any reccomendations for Bumble and Bumble products as im really keen to try out some more stuff from the brand and tempted by a shampoo & conditioner!

Let me know and ill see you all soon, Lots of Love

eve lom - kiss mix..

I just wanted to write a mini post on this wonder i recently brought, the Eve Lom - Kiss Mix, its a beautiful minty lipbalm with super moisturizing properties!

House inside beautiful, simplistic, typlical Eve Lom packaging, this beauty acts as a sunscreen aswell as protecting against the harsh winter winds so is ideal for use all year round, perfect for this cold weather we have coming up!

I like to pair this with a lip scrub just before bed to really allow it to penetrate into my lips, it has a lovely tingling/cooling sensation which makes you feel like its really working on those chapped lippies, i always wake up with beautifully soft smooth lips :)

Overall i love this little pot of menthol goodness, its perfect for applying before and after lipstick to make it less drying on the lips and is a lovely little gloss by its self, it also has really good staying power so good for days when you havent got much time to keep applying products!

Have any of you tried Kiss Mix?

yves saint laurent - volupte's..

Evening girls (and the occasional guy) i wanted to post just a mini haul of two lip products i brought at the weekend as they are just to godamn beautiful not to share with you all :)

I picked these up from my local House Of Fraser on Saturday, i had gone shopping with my nan (shes actually rather young at heart so going shopping with her is quite fun, im sure she might read this and be over the moon i said that, HI NAN)

I actually intended on picking up one of the glossy stains from YSL but couldnt seem to find one that i really wanted to go home with, i have one of the Rouge Sheer Candys already and love the colour of it, but wanted something a little more neautral for daytime and something i can just chuck on for work..

I chose this beaut #9 from the Sheer Candy collection, this range is super moisturizing, there more like a very pigmented lip balm and give your lips so much moisture which is so good for this time of year and the cold weather coming our way!

The second one i picked up was #15 Rouge Volupte Shine in Coral

These are meant to be lipsticks but again i think they are more like a pigmented lip balm but this time they have alot more colour pay off and are a little more longer lasting on the lips and a thicker formula, i definitely prefer the pigmentation of these compared the the Sheer Candy's but i wouldnt use them for a night out or somewhere i needed a lipstick to stay on all day as they just dont last very long on the lips!

Overall i really like them, i also absolutely love the packaging, in my personal opinion there is not better looking lipstick out there, they look exspensive, chic and such high quality, i just wish i could collect them all :)

Have any of you tried or have these, whats your favourite colours ?

kevin aucoin - the celestial powder - candlelight..

I knew i wanted this before i even saw it, its perfect & simple , no nonsense packaging and a truly amazing product hidden away inside, the Kevin Aucoin, Celestial Powder in Candlelight is a highlight lovers dream come true!

I must say i hadnt actually intended going out and buying this but a recent little trip with my friend Millie to Space NK found me picking up this delight and walking away with a happy face :)

Ok so yesss you can see from the photos that i did the cardinal sin when it comes to beauty blogs and i used it before i took photos, i couldnt help it, it had sat in its little Space NK bag for a few days waiting for me to get around to photographing it but busy days and long nights currently left me with no time and a want to use it, so that i did, and god im glad i did!

Personally im not a huge fan of the packaging, i know alot of people love that its simple but i just find it so boring for such an amazing product, this is the first thing ive brought from Kevin Aucoin and i think the packaging may have a little reason for this, but for this highlight i will definitely foresee it as i couldnt honestly tell you just how beautiful it is!

The product itself is so finely milled and buttery soft, it literally glides onto the skin weightlessly, you wouldnt even know you were applying it to your face but the glow it gives you is nothing like ive found from any other highlight, in the pan it looks quite dark but when transferred onto the skin it gives the most angelic pearlescent glow, it makes you look healthy, radiant and glowing literally instantly.
It picks up the light on your face and makes you look completely transformed in the swipe of a brush!

You can see how light the powder is, but the sheen is so apparent even on my pale skin, it is just way to perfect for words and i never ever thought i would've found it this amazing!

I think you can tell how happy i am that i purchased Candlelight, and i know i have almost certainly found a product i will stick by for life, i just want to tell everyone about it because it is just way too good to be left under wraps, the fact that Candlelight it so good makes me want to try even more in his collections, i definitely have my eye on a few lipsticks..

Let me know if you have tried anything from Kevin Aucoin and if you have tried Candlelight!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend?

skyn iceland - icelandic relief eye cream..

Good morning my beautiful readers, hope your days going well :)

I wanted to write a little post for you about a new eye cream i purchased, at first i wasn't going to bother talking about it as its one simple product which i didnt think many people would've been really interested in reading about, that is until i started using it!

Icelandic Relief Eye Cream is described as a lightweight contouring eye cream to minimize puffiness, wrinkles and dark circles.
I can definitely say that the claims it has are backed up by this product, since working full-time, blogging and keeping on top of the house i can say sleep is something that i dont get alot of any more, i have never been one to get bags or dark circles under my eyes, i was actually convinced at one point i was one of those lucky few that just had a good under eye area, unfortunately long days and short nights have taken there toll on me and now im an avid member of the dark circle crew ah!

The main reason for me buying this was because of the fact it is named as a 'relief' cream, i like the sound of this, it makes me feel as if the product is just going to take the weight of the day of my shoulders and allow me to relax in the evening, ive done a little research into the product for you and thought i would give you the facts on this little gem..

Features & Benefits:

- Vitamin K increases circulation to help diminish dark under-eye circles
- Anti-aging rice peptides help firm skin by destroying the enzymes that break down collagen and elastin
- Orange peel helps reduce puffiness
- Cotton powder fills fine lines and acts as an optical diffuser to downplay wrinkles and dark circles
- Icelandic kelp helps revitalizes skin and fight inflammation

The cream is of a really thick whipped consistency, but once applied to the under eye area it is extremely light weight and soothing, its such a delight to apply this after freshly cleansing your face and moisturising, its a luxury product that i really cant rave more about.

I picked mine up from the M&S beauty hall, you can also buy it online here: http://www.skyniceland.com/product-5-eye-cream

Hope you have a wonderful day :)

Lots of love Frankie xXx
