sanderson mad-hatters afternoon tea

Have you ever watched Alice in Wonderland and dreamed of becoming Alice and running away down that rabbit hole?

Well I basically did the next best thing, just off of Oxford street you can step into a magical world of teeny tiny sandwhiches, pocket watch macaroons, ladybird red velvet cakes and splendid cups of queen of hearts tea.
The Sanderson is one of the most beautiful hotels i've ever stepped foot into, having been twice before, it literally wows me everytime as much as that very first time I stepped through those unique doors.
The interiors are quirky & unique, as soon as you walk through the door you are greeted by a huge pair of cushiony red lips and a swinging chair suspended from the ceiling - literally the best props for instagram photos ;)
The Mad Hatters Tea takes place in the ever so beautiful courtyard garden, with the most calming waterfall and marble tables adorned with piteresque themed crockery by Luna and Curious, literally every bloggers dream!
To begin with is the savoury treats, scottish smoked salmon, quail and caviar scotch egg which is out of this world tasty, and caviar is not what I expected atall, its actually really sweet and lovely, the wiltshire ham and smoked applewood croque-monsieur was absolutely to die for, I couldve literally eaten these over and over, sneakily we ordered extra (hint, they do not offer you extra but are aloud to ask for more)!

Moving onto the most important course, the delectable puddings, seriously I have never tasted sweet treats quite like it, my favourite would have to be either the vanilla scones with clotted cream and fruit preserve or the white rabbits pocket watch macaroon, a delicate white chocolate and coffee flavour!

During your time at the tea party, you can help yourself to as many cups of the beautiful fragrant flavoured tea as you like.. considering how much of tea fan I am this definitely went down well in my books, the fruity leaf teas were just as delicous as everything else, my favourite was Alice - China black tea infused with blackcurrants, vanilla, caramel and citrus.

As im sure you can tell by now how much I literally love this experience, if you ever considered venturing out for an afternoon tea date, please do make this top of the list for places to go.
Such an experience for all ages, I cannot reccomend it highly enough, infact ive just booked again for this years Mothers day treat, I really hope she loves it as much as I do!

Beauty Haul.. House of Fraser, Boots & Lush..

So id tweeted a few days ago asking what primers/setting sprays you all recommended, id been on the hunt for some new ones as my current bits just weren't working that well for me, i dont know if its to do with the weather but my make-up just isnt staying on my skin, it doesnt matter what foundation i wear it just comes off and im left patchy at the end of the day :(

The majority of people that replied kept saying to go for the Urban Decay setting sprays which was infact the ones i had my eyes on already, ive been previously using Mac Fix+ which dont get me wrong i absolutely LOVE it, it just leaves me looking to dewy for this time of year which i think isnt helping my makeup stay on very well.

I decided to go for the Chill setting spray as it sets your makeup perfectly but doesnt matte out the skin, it still leaves you looking fresh and not overly dewy, but gives a healthy glow without being shiney, i tried this out the past few days and i have to say my makeup has'n't budged, not even in the slightest, i even wore it last night and my makeup was still completely intact after going to a gig and a club (yes i know i actually ventured out for once in my life instead of playing cat lady at home with my blanket and a cup of tea)

The primer i had already kind of decided on as ive been wanting to give this a go ever since i saw Boots had started stocking it, the SmashBox Photo-ready primer is oil and paraben free, i liked the idea of this, once applied to your face it literally sinks into the skin, completely disguising any pores on your face leaving you with a lovely smooth base ready to apply your foundation, concealer etc.

I purchased the smaller 12ml sized primer incase i didnt like it, this is currently in Boots for £12.50 which i think is a really good price for a SmashBox product, and its also the first time ive tried something from the brand :)

This little orangey goodness caught my eye, its a shower brush, anyone who knows me knows i have a serious hair product addiction and anything that can be used in the shower to help smoothand de-tangle my wild mane is a huge bonus, i had never seen these before and i think the fact it was orange helped sway me into buying it as im obsessed with the bloody colour :)

I also really like Denman products, i have a teezer brush from them and it gives the best volume out of any brush ive ever used, they have such good quality brushes so i trust this will be just as good!

Another product again ive been wanting for ages but could never justify the £5.50 price tag for a small tub of basically sugar you could make yourself at home, but the last few weeks my lips have been dryer than normal and frankly im too lazy to make my own haha, the smell of this is divine, literally sweet bubblegum goodness in a jar, plus you can use the product straight from the pot and lick of the remains which is good for a little sweet tooth lover like me!

I must say its really helped the condition of my lips and they look much plumper and more alive again now, i use this before bed and then apply the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Lip Balm over the top and i wake up with beautiful soft lips ready for the day ahead :)

Hope you've all had a good weekend, mine has been super busy with work and actually going out for once, im now very sleepy and will be reverting back to my usual cat lady self and lazing with Samuel and the cats watching a film.

Let me know what youve all been upto and if you've brought any goodies this week?

lots of love, Frankie xXx

The Autumn Tag..

I just had to do this tag, i absolutely LOVE Autumn, its my favourite time of year, its cosy, you can snuggle under blankets, light warm scented candles and best of all, its the lead upto CHRISTMAS ahh :)

So here it is, the Autumn tag!

For Autumn, what is your...

Favourite thing about it? I guess i kind of already answered this question above haha, i also love the changing in the colours of leaves, and you can wear warm jumpers, scarves, hats and gloves, also starbucks christmas cups come out around this time of year too :)

Favourite Drink? My favourite drink over the autumn months would have to be tea, I love having tea and biscuits in front of me on cold evenings, snuggled under my cosy fur blanket watching youtube videos, HEAVEN!

Favourite scent/candle? My favourite that ive been burning this year is Yankee Candle - Warm Spice or a new one i just got is YK Salted Caramel.

Best lipsticks? For Autumn i love deep purple/berry toned lipsticks, my usual go to one is MAC Rebel, and just recently i brought MAC Just A Bite which is perfect for this time of year, i wore it out a few nights ago and got lots of compliments on it.

Go to moisturiser? Is still my Origins Gin-zing, i still absolutely love it, ill definitely be repurchasing it, especially in the autumn/winter months as its super moisturizing so great when its windy outside to stop my skin drying out :)

Go to colour for the eye? Definitely copper and brown tones, like the leaves at this time of year, they are my go to colours, also i like burgundy eyes too!

Favourite Band/singer or music to listen to? I havent really got one at the moment, ive been working way too much to have listened to anything although all time i do love listening to Kanye West albums over and over.

Favourite outfit to wear? Anything comfy and cosy, preferably at home in my Abercrombie and Fitch tracksuit with my fluffy slippers on haha, during the day would be a pair of leggings/jeans with a cosy jumper, chunky heeled boots and a coat!

Autumn Treat? Marshmallows on the fire whilst watching the fireworks and a cup of hot chocolate with added marshmallows in it too :D

Favourite place to be? At home under the blanket with Samuel and the cats watching a film with a cup of tea and slippers on (i think i have a thing for wanting to be at home, cosy and being lazy haha)

Well that is my Autumn tag for you guys, hope you liked it and i look forward to hearing all of yours so i tag you all to do it too :)
